DAY 24 - MONDAY, 5 AUGUST 2013

Well this morning we entered the Red Sea, heading into areas of civil unrest and unpredictability.  So we were not surprised that our Captain announced a few days ago that, due to these problems in Egypt, our ports of Safaga, Alexandria and Sharm El Sheik have been cancelled.  Very unfortunate news for those who had their hearts set and even booked this cruise to visit these ports, but Princess have our safety as their priority, of course.

Our two new ports are Ashdod (for Jerusalem) and Aghios Nikolaos, Crete.  Looking forward to going to Jerusalem again – I said a couple of special prayers at the Waling Wall last visit and they came true!!!!  Now I  have a few more requests for special friends, this time……   And, as we haven't been to Crete before, looking forward to that port.

Today we did all the wonderful things we like to do on board during the day and it was another special occasion tonight – well commiserations for us "Blues" supporters, as us losers took the winners, the "Maroons", to dinner at the Sterling Steakhouse Restaurant.  We had our Kiwi dinner mates along as well to enjoy the fat juicy prawns, then the sumptuous steaks (melt in your mouth kind), along with all the trimmings, all washed down with champus & wine!!!  It was a great meal and a super night……

Photos:  All of our dinner at the Sterling Steakhouse - not the best photos (taken by waiters, not photographers!!)
