DAY 20/21 - THURSDAY/FRIDAY, 1/2 AUGUST 2013 SEA DAYS

We continue to cross the Arabian Sea and as mentioned in the Princess Patter, although the ship is fully ECDIS approved, (meaning it can legally navigate using only electronic charts), it still utilizes paper charts as a back-up means of navigation.  One of the main duties of the Officer of the watch on the bridge is to make sure that the ship is following these tracks.

So Thursday seemed to pass with not to much else to report – another lovely sunny day, although it does seem to be getting a little more windy and wobblier than we have become accustomed to over the last few weeks……….

Thursday night was very wobbly and by the time we stood up and opened the curtains today – Friday morning, we realized we were in for some nasty weather.   OMG!!!  It's getting a lot worse and our fearless Captain announced that this was quite normal for this part of the world and we would be experiencing approx. 5metre wave swells for the next 24 hours – Oh great!!.... just what we wanted to hear!!

Well of course the decks are closed and the sick bags are out in the stairwells – and we are rocking and rolling!!!   There don't seem to be many people about, wonder why, and we've decided to get Room Service tonight – well if it ever turns, took 10 mins. to place the order – seems like we are not the only ones staying in tonight.

Photos:   Sick Bags!!!;  The deserted Promenade Deck;  and this photo was taken from the Patisserie on Deck 5 – don't think we've seen waves this big before on our Dawn!!!
