DAY 59 - MONDAY, 9 SEPTEMBER, 2013 - SEA DAY

Our Mediterranean adventure is nearing its end as we sail into Valetta, Malta, tomorrow and then head towards the Suez Canal.

Today was quite special, as we began 'cooking classes' with our Master Chef, Commendatore, Alfredo Marzi in the Vista Lounge.  Alfredo graduated from the most prestigious culinary academy in Paris and has worked in some of the best hotels and restaurants in Europe.  He has also been involved in preparing banquets for many royals and celebrities around the world, so we are looking forward to what he is going to teach us!!

Alfredo has worked with Princes Cruises for nearly 40 years, and is involved in every single part of the food preparations – beginning with the recipes, ordering the food, checking the ingredients on the dock before they even get on the ship, every single iota of the galley and cooking and all in all putting a big smile on over 5 million passengers and over 20,000 employees around the sailing globe.  He's a real character and he spent much of our first get together telling us about himself – then his first recipe - 'Oysters, Sieur de Bienville' ….  sounds easy enough and rather mouth-watering!!

The rest of the day just seemed to disappear – another very pleasant sea day - so I'll leave it there.
