DAY 49 - FRIDAY, 30 AUGUST, 2013 MYKONOS, GREECE

Well it was back to the absolutely beautiful colours and charms of Mykonos today, but sadly it was very windy, which took some of the joy off the few hours that we had there.

We did the same stroll around the shoreline, filled with vegetable stalls and open air cafés and restaurants, to the Windmills, taking millions of photos along the way.  The locals are very proud of their charming white-washed houses, most of them neat and tidy, with washing blowing from the upstairs balconies and little shops beneath.  The little white churches with their sky blue domes are everywhere.  Coffee called and time to sit and watch the beautiful view back on the waters edge, and soak up all the atmosphere – that was between the hundreds of scooters and tourists (gosh they are everywhere!!!) passing by.

I was then allowed to 'escape' as Colin thought I was in a pretty safe place and couldn't get lost and he knew we didn't really need more souvenirs from here.   It was fun to weave in and out of the tiny residential streets, narrow laneways, window shopping all the way, and taking millions more photos!!!!

I think most of the girls on the ship found a particularly nice little dress shop who did very well out of us, and I managed to help out the economy – again!!

We had to be back on board by 1.30, so we arrived back just in time for lunch – along with the rest of the ship!!  Afternoon was spent catching up and after dinner we saw a brilliant show "The Beatles", who are very good and sang lots and lots of our old favourites.
