We've now entered the Coral Sea and about to enjoy 6 relaxing sea days doing "whatever we want"!!! It's finally getting warmer outside and time to put away those winter woolies.
At 10.30 this morning our Cruise Critic Dawn Nomads had its first Meet & Greet in 'Jammers' and there must have been around a hundred of us. Joanne (packetau) was instrumental in starting up our Roll Call and has done 'the most brilliant job' of answering the multitude of questions thrown at her, giving sound advice whenever needed and also given so much information and links to ports and tours – nothing was ever too much for Joanne to explain and we are sooooo lucky to have her brilliant input – Thank you Joanne!!!
Ros has been the 'consummate organiser' of our official Roll Call and what a great job she has done over the last many, many months – massive!!! – Thank you Ros!! She introduced all the senior staff to the gathering and had a quick chat with each of them, which was really nice. She then passed the mike around the room and it was great to put faces to all those who had been chatting on the site and it will be even nicer in the weeks to come to get to know everyone more at our various get togethers and of course, around the ship.
A lazy afternoon but I did manage my first big walk around the Promenade, before preparing for our first formal night – the Captain's Welcome Aboard Party. With a glass of Champagne in hand and everyone looking very glamorous, Mark, our Cruise Director, introduced the man of the moment, Captain Ivan Jerman (who actually was born in England but now lives in Sydney). He in turn introduced his Senior Officers and also the Employee of the month, Wiji Astuti. The Champagne Waterfall began to flow and we all enjoyed another fabulous evening…………
